Vinay Maloo
Vinay Maloo graduated in Commerce from St. Xavier College, Kolkata, a college which is considered by many to be the nursery for world famous entrepreneurs. The telecom revolution was destined to happen in India in the next decade with the onset of post liberalization era, but a man saw this beforehand and he shunned the idea of further professional studies and took the entrepreneurial route. Thus came Himachal Futuristic Communication Limited (HFCL) into existence, one of the 1st private telecom companies of India, only a visionary and a person with enormous courage could choose such a sector as telecom as his entrepreneurial launch venture which in those days had less than 1% penetration. Despite not hailing from an established business house, the projects undertaken by Vinay Maloo were grand in design, to say the least. The grandness was supported by technical soundness gathered by means of partnerships with technical bigwigs of west, under right guidance, efficient teamwork and making right moves at the right time HFCL graduated from a single product, single customer company to a multi-product, multi customer company. Vinay Maloo’s excellent skills of managing manpower, meeting deadlines and raising fund by financial wizardry helped in the meteoric rise of HFCL. At the advent of new century HFCL was a company with a market capital of USD 3.5 billion; it was the apple pie of the stock exchange and was one of the most promising ventures in India at that point of time.

The journey was tough and exhausting but Vinay Maloo was in no mood to rest as he has a bigger picture in mind, a canvas which has business beyond the telecom sector. Vinay Maloo likes challenges and hates being monotonous. Having everything and still having penchant for more was the driving reason for Vinay Maloo starting Enso Group. Enso Group is a flagship company having numerous businesses under its fold, the company have varied interest in oil and gas E&P, mineral mining, automotive design, entertainment, real estate and infrastructure. He has the clear vision that ‘’natural resources are the backbone of most global industries and having a hold in this segment is the key to being omnipotent’’. If Vinay Maloo’s earlier venture was ahead of times, Enso group would redefine the word energy and its use for generations to come.

On personal front Vinay Maloo is an ardent Jain, vegetarian by birth and enjoys the teachings of Jain munis. In his spare time, he practices yoga, meditation and occasional work outs. He currently resides between Mumbai and London with his wife Vineeta Maloo and two children - Vaibhav Maloo and Garima Maloo.
